PARENT - CHILD PROGRAM
a meaningful introduction
PARENT-CHILD PROGRAMS
Our unique Parent-Child Programs offer guidance and support for parents and young children in a nurturing environment. Our classes are designed to focus on early infancy up to age three and are an exploration into life with a young child and the wisdom of parenthood.
Each class format allows children to enjoy healthy, self-initiated movement and play while parents/caregivers engage in quiet observation and learn about creating gentle daily rhythms, games and songs, socialization, creative play and a variety of parenting/child development topics.
Please note that enrollment includes class attendance of one adult per child, but it doesn't have to be the same caregiver for every class. Virtual meetings are open to multiple caregivers. Twins who are registered and attend with one adult qualify as a single enrollment. Sessions are offered in the fall, winter and spring.

Join this thoughtful exploration of life with babies, the joys and challenges of parenting, and how our approach to care-giving can strengthen our bond with babies and lay a foundation for healthy parent-child relationships. This special 4-week program will delve into subjects such as establishing rhythms and routines, observation of child development that goes beyond “milestones,” and the connection between self-initiated movement and cognitive development. We will enjoy nursery rhymes and finger games that parents can weave into their care-giving.

10 months - 23 months

During this 6-week class, children will have the opportunity to engage in social interaction, exploration and free play. Parents will enjoy the support of other parents and an experienced teacher as we navigate toddler issues and find joyfulness in their constant efforts to learn and to process their world. Together, we will share songs, finger games, and movement.

24 months - 35 months

During this 6-week class, children can experience a simple preschool rhythm with the comfort of their caregiver’s presence. Gentle transitions between activities like baking, open-ended imaginative play, seasonal circles with movement, and a shared snack help children learn to regulate themselves. Playful songs and rhymes offer joyful experiences that strengthen oral language development. Parent discussion evenings give us a chance to address parenting and education topics in more depth.
