Adventures in Alexandria – Exploring
June 19 – 23
Led by Michael Judge
Alexandria is one of the most historic towns in all of America. Right outside the front door of Potomac Crescent Waldorf School dwells a landscape full of stories and historic locations that span the length of our history. When a child can link stories with their geographic landscape, that landscape comes alive. This PCWS camp will pioneer the many opportunities that can be searched out in Alexandria. We will explore the site of individual human tales of struggle and connect in a heartfelt way with the sites that evoke the feelings of Native Americans, colonial peoples, the American Revolution, the amazing growth of our country, the tragedy of the Civil War, and the struggle for civil rights. We will also seek out all the spaces where a child can frolic and play.
This camp is for rising 3rd – 5th graders
Cost: $350 per week

Cooking and Baking
July 10 - 14
Led by Simi Nary
Children will make delicious, healthy and wholesome foods from scratch: breads made from whole grains, jams, soups, seasonal salads, pasta from flour to form, and yummy sauces to accompany them. The children will get a window into how some of the foods they eat everyday come to life. They will create their own recipe books through painting and art to bring home and share with their families and loved ones.

Arts Camp
July 17 – 21
Led by Adriana Gomez
Children will spend the week working with their hands, exploring a unique combination of different mediums such as clay, natural fibers, and wood. They will have the opportunity to learn about different artistic techniques: painting with acrylics, making marble paper, sewing, and weaving. With their newly acquired skills they will create unique objets d'arts to embellish and use in their homes. Children will also have time to play and tend to our school garden.
